Summary

Transform your life using the Bullet Journal Method, the revolutionary organisational system and worldwide phenomenon。

In his long-awaited first book, Ryder Carroll, the creator of the enormously popular Bullet Journal® organisational system, explains how to use his method to:

Track the past: using nothing more than a pen and paper, create a clear, comprehensive, and organised record of your thoughts and goals。

Order the present: find daily calm by prioritising and minimising your workload and tackling your to-do list in a more mindful and productive way。

Design the future: establish and appraise your short-term and long-term goals, plan more complex projects simply and effectively, and live your life with meaning and purpose。

Like many of us, Ryder Carroll tried everything to get organised — countless apps, systems, planners, you name it。 Nothing really worked。 Then he invented his own simple system that required only pen and paper, which he found both effective and calming。 He shared his method with a few friends, and before long he had a worldwide viral movement。 Hundreds of thousands of Bullet Journal fans now spread the word and read Ryder's blog and newsletter。

The system combines elements of a wishlist, a to-do list, and a diary。 It makes it easy to get thoughts out of your head (an unreliable witness) and onto paper, to see them clearly and decide what to do about them。 It helps you identify what matters, and set goals accordingly。 By breaking long-term goals into small actionable steps, users map out an approachable path towards continual improvement, allowing them to stay focused despite the crush of incoming demands。

But this is much more than a time management book。 It's also a manifesto for what Ryder calls "intentional living:" making sure that your beliefs and actions align。 Even if you already use a Bullet Journal®, this book gives you new exercises to become more calm and focused, new insights on how to prioritise well, and a new awareness of the power of analogue tools in a digital world。

Me ha servido para comprender bien el sistema, pues lo explica detenidamente y de forma amena。 Incluye muchos datos e ideas interesantes que pueden servir de análisis y autorreflexión。

there is a lot of useful information in this book。 However, I was expecting much more visual information。 The book is mostly narrative with only a few examples。 When there was a link to a page it took me to a long narrative about the page and not an example of what the page looked like。 This is not what I was expecting。

Interesting IdeasThe author's brain and my brain work very differently。 The idea of using a physical notebook to track tasks and calendars would drive me insane。 But。。。 I know people who could benefit from this, and I've adopted some of the author's ideas on journaling to help me get out of my own way。 That makes this a good book for ideas and seeing what might work for you to help you stay on top of things。 Interesting IdeasThe author's brain and my brain work very differently。 The idea of using a physical notebook to track tasks and calendars would drive me insane。 But。。。 I know people who could benefit from this, and I've adopted some of the author's ideas on journaling to help me get out of my own way。 That makes this a good book for ideas and seeing what might work for you to help you stay on top of things。 。。。more

Review in a few days, its a task in my BuJo-----It actually was a task and hey look, I’m getting it done。 No in all seriousness, this was a great book。 I've been a long time off and on bullet journaller。 I've had this book for a long time, we're talking years, and never really read it for now。 I actually put some of this stuff into practice and believe it or not I am getting things done for the first time in a long time。 It’s a pretty great feeling。I found the first half of the book more useful Review in a few days, its a task in my BuJo-----It actually was a task and hey look, I’m getting it done。 No in all seriousness, this was a great book。 I've been a long time off and on bullet journaller。 I've had this book for a long time, we're talking years, and never really read it for now。 I actually put some of this stuff into practice and believe it or not I am getting things done for the first time in a long time。 It’s a pretty great feeling。I found the first half of the book more useful than the second half。 I think that is a matter of personal preference。 The second half wasn't especially relevant to me at this time but in a few years, who knows? As the book says a Bujo is as flexible as you need it to be and that’s one of the most beautiful things about this method。I would recommend this book to both new people looking for an organisation system or old school bullet journals looking for some new ideas。 It really helped to put things into perspective for me。 It was a delightful, encouraging, and inspiring read。“There has never been, nor will there ever be, another like you。 Your singular perspective may patch some small hole in the vast tattered fabric of humanity。 Uniqueness alone, however, does not make you valuable。 If you don’t do, if you don’t dare, then you rob the word – and yourself - of the chance to contribute something meaningful。”-Ryder Carroll, The Bullet Journal Method (pg 183) 。。。more

I really like discovering life hacks, but i'm also very cynical of them as most are either very obvious, or just impractical to most people。 For me the Bullet Journal Method is an interesting and original approach to structuring your notes and (I guess) your life。 I use an A5 notebook for capturing tasks and information at work anyway, so the method described here is something i will try as its not too much outside of my apathy zone for change。The actual method is mostly captured in the first 30 I really like discovering life hacks, but i'm also very cynical of them as most are either very obvious, or just impractical to most people。 For me the Bullet Journal Method is an interesting and original approach to structuring your notes and (I guess) your life。 I use an A5 notebook for capturing tasks and information at work anyway, so the method described here is something i will try as its not too much outside of my apathy zone for change。The actual method is mostly captured in the first 30% of the book, and even then you could most likely cover it in maybe only ten pages - but I didn't feel this book was padded with unnecessary information。 The majority of the book tries to build up your confidence in starting to use the method, and explains some additional methods to solve specific use-cases。Definitely worth reading and certainly worth trying, you never know - it might be a life-hack that will revolutionise how you track tasks, capture notes, plan for the future。If I find this approach works well I will be bumping up the rating to 5 stars but for now, 4 stars。 。。。more
